Message Types and how they behave

EesySoft allows you to create a variety of different messages, or Help Items for different purposes. Here is a quick look at their features and some ideas on when to use each type.

When to use an HTML Help Item

Give your users a more engaging experience by embedding content in your messages. These can only be set on a page level.

Here are some scenarios for which this message type would be useful:

  • Training videos on functionality
  • Webinars & conference footage

When to use a Hint

Hints are useful, unintrusive reminders for the user. A hint appears when the user hovers over a particular part of the page, as defined in your Context. Hints are normally applied to part of a page and this part is highlighted by an orange dotted line.

Here are some scenarios for which this message type would be useful:

  • New functionality
  • Promote specific links or areas

When to use a Systray Message

These are normally set on a page level and always appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. These are perfect for general messages whether they are about the LMS or not.

  • General information
  • Invitations
  • Deadline reminders

When to use File & Link Content

Refer your users to additional resources by including a link to an external file, video or website within your message.
