No longer will you be in the dark about how your system is being used.
Not sure what we mean by Monitors? Go to What is a Monitor and where do I find it?
You can apply a Monitor to a Context for a page or a part of a page.
TIP! It’s worth checking out the Monitors that have already been created in your system – the one you want might already be there! Have a look through the Monitor Overview Report to make sure before you start.
You can also attach an existing Monitor to more than one Context.
For example, say you want to Monitor the use of Collaborate Ultra. There are several paths that can be taken for this. If you are not interested in which path is being used and purely the number of people that are using it, we could apply one Monitor to all the different paths for getting there. Jump to Connect an existing Monitor to your Context.
Finally, if you want your Monitor’s results to show in the EesyReports suite, it must be added to at least one Reporting Template.
Follow the steps below to connect a new Monitor to your Context.
Once named, your Monitor will be saved and will start counting.
To check that the Monitor is working, first trigger the Monitor by logging into your LMS and navigating to the page or section of page Context where you have added the Monitor. Now log into your EesySoft web application and check the Monitor Overview Report. Your new Monitor should appear at the bottom of this list and show that a hit has been registered.
TIP! It is a good idea to add your Monitor to the same folder in each of the Reporting Templates so that the information will be reflected regardless of the template being used.
Finally, if you want your Monitor’s results to show in the EesyReports Suite, it must be added to at least one Reporting Template.
If a Monitor is relevant to more than one Context, the same Monitor can be connected to each relevant Context. The Monitor will be triggered each time any of these Contexts are triggered.
Follow the steps below to connect an existing Monitor to your Context.
In the Navigation Panel on the left, highlight the Context to which you want to connect your existing Monitor.
A window will appear with a dropdown menu of all existing Monitors. Scroll down the list or start typing to find the Monitor you want to connect.
To check that the Monitor is working, first trigger the Monitor by logging into your LMS and navigating to the Context to which you have just connected the Monitor.
Now log into your EesySoft web application and check the Monitor Overview Report. Your existing Monitor should show that a hit has been registered by your userID showing the time and date it was triggered in the Last Visit column.
TIP! Even though the Monitor you have connected has already been created, it is still worth checking that this Monitor has also been added to the Reporting Template.
Finally, if you want your Monitor’s results to show in the Tool Adoption and Course Activity Reports, make sure that it is added to at least one Reporting Template.
The Monitor activity can be reviewed and compared across User Groups in the Comparison Reports section of the EesySoft web application. To find out more, go to The EesyReports Catalog.
