Lesson 1:

Understanding EesySoft Reports

In this lesson you will learn about all of the reports that are available to you via EesySoft and what they mean. 

Lesson 1: Details & Exercises

1 - Introduction to Reports

In this video you will learn about the concept of the Eesy Reports.

Exercise: 

    • Log in to the Dashboard of the Production instance and go to the Monitor Overview. Explore the different filter options.
    • Can you explain why some monitors have not been triggered?
2 - Tool Adoption Reports

In this video, you will learn about using the actionable Tool Adoption Report which provides insight into Tool usage.

Use Case:

The instructional design department concludes that the Tests should be more promoted among the instructors. You want to reach out to all the non-active instructors via e-mail.

Exercise:

    • Create an e-mail which contains an invite for a Tests workshop addressed to all these non-active (Tests) instructors.
3 - Activity Reports

In this video, you will learn how to create monitors that track the activity and usage of elements in Canvas.

Use Case: 

At your institution, you are promoting the usage of the Student Preview. But you also want to measure the usage of it.

Exercises:

    • Create a monitor on the Student Preview button.
    • Trigger the monitor and verify in the Monitor Overview if it’s working.

Creating & Managing Content

In this lesson you will learn how to create and manage content items like messages and support articles within EesySoft.

4 - Introduction to the Inline Editor

In this video, you will learn what the Inline Editor is and how it can be used to create content directly from within Canvas.

5 - Activate the Inline Editor

In this video, you will learn how to activate the Inline Editor.

Exercise: 

    • Enable the Inline Editor in a Canvas Staging Environment. Please mind logging into the Staging first before you enable the Inline Editor.
6 - Create a Hint Message

In this video, you will learn how to create a Hint message on a page element.

Use Case:

The instructors of your institution don’t know how to use the Student view properly and need to be instructed.

Exercise:

    • Create a Hint with Student view information on the Student View button which should instantly show on every page.
7 - Create a Systray Message

In this video, you will learn how to create a Systray message and a Popup window message on a page.

Use Case 1

It seems that the Assignments Tool is under-used by the instructors of your institution. They need to be inspired with this Tool.

Exercise 1

    • Create a Systray message on the Rubrics page with an embedded Youtube video about Assignments. (Tip: Copy the embed code and go to Insert>Media>Embed)

Use Case 2

Your institution has to make a very important Financial Aid announcement for the students.

Exercise 2

    • Create a popup window message for students on the Course Homepage with an important message. Also, add an image to this message. (Tip go to Insert>Image)
8 - Adding Content to the Support Center

In this video, you will learn how to create and add a Support article to the Support Center.

Use Case:

At your institution, the courses do not have the same overall structure which affects the student experience

Exercises:

    • Create a pdf document with the Course standards and add this document to the Support Center.
9 - Using the Content Library

In this video, you will learn how to edit help items in the Content Library

Use Case: 

The size of the systray message is too small.

Exercises:

    • Change the width and height, so that the video fits perfectly.
10 - Creating a Monitor

In this video, you will learn how to create monitors that track the activity and usage of elements in Canvas.

Use Case: 

At the beginning of the semester you would like to know how often courses are published.

Exercises:

    •  Create a monitor on the “Publish” button.
    • Trigger the monitor and verify in the Monitor Overview if it’s working.

Creating & Managing Campaigns

In this lesson you will learn how to create and manage campaigns within EesySoft.

11 - Introduction to Campaigns

In this video, you will learn how you can use EesySoft Campaigns to connect multiple messages and support articles to understand the impact of multiple content items on engagement and adoption. 

12 - Creating Campaigns

In this video, you will learn how to create campaigns from scratch.

Use Case: 

For each new semester, Instructors need to do some standard preparations.

Exercise:

 Create a campaign from scratch, which includes at least:

    • Message 1: Course copy or creation of new courses on the Home page
    • Message 2: Enrolment of students on the Users page
    • Message 3: Announcements should be cleaned up on the Announcements page
    • The right Impact points to measure the activity
13 - Campaigns from the Tool Adoption Report

In this video, you will learn how to create campaigns from the Tool Adoption Report.

Use Case:

According to the Tool Adoption Report, the Gradebook is under-used by the Instructors. The Gradebook needs to be promoted among faculty who are not using the Gradebook.

Exercise:

Create a Campaign via the Tool Adoption Report which includes:

    •  Message 1: Motivates and inspires the usage of the Gradebook on the Homepage
    • Message 2: Video instruction of the Gradebook (embedded YouTube) on the Gradebook
    • The right impact points
    • Events like Workshop, Newsletter, and Messages.
